When resetting your password, or creating a new one, your new password may be rejected because it contains similar character sequences to the previous one. Review this article to understand why.

If you continue to have issues with passwords being rejected, use the password generator that is built into your browser to automatically generate one that complies with our requirements (see the relevant section below).

What are the password requirements?

...

  • Not have 3 or more sequential characters from a previous password

  • Have at least 8 or more characters

  • Have at least 1 numerical number

  • Have at least 1 special character

  • Have at least 1 capital letter

  • Not have 3 or more sequential characters (i.e. 1234 or aaaa)

  • Cannot have more than 3 sequential characters from your username (your email address)

  • Cannot have more than 3 sequential characters from your first or surname

Info

Examples of password rejection:

If the username (the email to login) is jane.doe@convergeintl.com.au the password can’t contain any 3 sequential characters from the username.

  • A password of Ancddoe25@ would be rejected because it contains doe from the username (Ancddoe25@). It would also be rejected because it contains 3 or more characters of their surname.

  • Similarly, a password of Pasintl34! would also be rejected because it contains 3 sequential characters from the username also (Pasintl34!)

  • A password of Eap123@ would be rejected because it contains a sequential character of 123 (Eap123@) and is also 7 characters long, instead of the minimum requirement of 8 or more characters long
