When using Phoenix to view and rebook appointments, you may have booked them at a time that suits your schedule based on DST (for either you or the clientCustomer), which will impact the time either you or the client Customer attend the appointment after DST changes; it’s important you view this information if you are in a state changing time or booking clients Customers in multiple time zones. |

How does this affect existing bookings?
For bookings with clients Customers in the same state as you:
There will be no change to your existing booking times
For bookings with clients Customers in a different state to you:
If the following conditions are met:
IF the client Customer or you were in a non-DST observing state
AND you booked an appointment with that client Customer before DST changes
Example:
In September 2024, before DST occurs:
You scheduled an appointment with a customer living in QLD.
The appointment is scheduled to occur on October 10th, 2024 at 12:00pm Customer time (QLD).
You are located in NSW - at the time both you and the Customer are in the same time zone.
The appointment appears as 12pm in NSW and 12pm in QLD
After Daylight savings occurs:
The time of the appointment will be off by +1hr in your calendar, but not in the Customers calendar.
The appointment will appear in your calendar at 1:00pm instead of 12:00pm
The appointment will continue to be at 12:00pm for the customer, in their time zone (QLD)
There will be an impact on Appointment times. The appointment may now be in your calendar + or - time to when you originally scheduled it.

Customers?
If you or your client Customer lives in a state where DST changed, this will affect you when rebooking your clients Customers for a date after a daylight savings date.
Example:
Before the DST starts (winter months):
If you are located in VIC and have been seeing a WA client Customer each week at 10am WA time, this was feasible as this would fit into your 12pm VIC slot.
After the DST starts (summer months):
This would now not be feasible, as with WA moving to 3hours behind, they would now fit into your 1pm VIC slot (in this example you are not available at 1pm).

Customer if they can attend appointments at 9am WA time (to continue fitting them into your 12pm VIC slot) or decide on another time that works for you both. |
Note |
---|
Always rebook into the clientCustomer's time-zone, allowing Phoenix to auto calculate the time-zone difference between you and the clientCustomer. Phoenix will allow you to check this before confirming the appointment (see example below) to see if you are available for that appointment in your time-zone. This allows you to go back if you are not available at that time in your time-zone, and reschedule with the client Customer a time that suits both. |
