This guide will help you understand how to sync Apple Health data from your wearable or iPhone to the Converge International App.
The Apple Health collects data from compatible wearables and devices, such as the Apple Watch or iPhone.
When you give the Converge International App permission to view some or all of that data from the Apple Health, it's used in our App for Move challenges participation or activity and your personalised wellbeing metrics within the App.
Sync Apple Watch and Phone data to Converge App
Allow Converge International app to view some or all Apple Health data
Once you have completed registration in the Converge International App, you can permit the App to access data from Apple Health, including steps from your iPhone and activity and/or steps from your Apple Watch.
The following steps also applies if you only have an iPhone (no Apple Watch) and want to use the iPhone’s built in Pedometer to count steps for Converge Move challenges and activities or wellbeing features.
In the Converge International App, tap “Profile” from the menu at the bottom
Next, tap “Settings” from the menu
Tap “Connect your device”
Tap “Connect” for “ iPhone | Watch from the list of devices to connect
Thats it! You’ve now enabled the Converge App to sync data from your Apple Watch via the Apple Health App.
Troubleshooting and further help
If you need to manage or revoke Apple Health data sharing
If you no longer intend to use the Converge App
when you delete the Application our App will automatically lose access to Apple Health data.
If you want to continue to use the Converge App for non-fitness and wellbeing features, but no longer want to sync Apple Health data
You can turn off Apple Health sharing from the Converge International App by following these steps:
Launch the Converge International App
Tap “Profile”
“Tap Settings”
Tap “Health App”
Tap “Disconnect” where iPhone and Watch is shown
If you want to adjust the types of data shared from Apple Health to the Converge App
Launch the Apple Health App (may be shown as “Health” on your iPhone)
Tap “Sharing” from the menu at the bottom of the app
Scroll down and tap “Apps and Services”
Tap “Converge” from the list of Apps and Services which has access to Health data
Turn off data you don’t want the Converge International App to access or write to Health
Note, if you turn off “Activity” and/or “Steps” from the options shown, it may affect your ability to participate in Move challenges and activities in the Converge App.
You can always turn these features on during Move challenges and then turn it off after a move challenge has ended if you are conscious about data sharing.
If you only have an iPhone and steps data isn’t syncing to the Converge App
If don’t have an Apple Watch, you can use your iPhone’s built in Pedometer to track steps, which allows you to participate in Move challenges, wellbeing and activities features in the Converge App.
If you have followed the instructions in the section “Allow Converge International app to view some or all Apple Health data” and steps from iPhone are still not being synced, you may need to enable Motion and Fitness in the Privacy section of the iPhone Settings app:
Go to Settings app on your iPhone
In the settings app, scroll to the Privacy or Privacy & Security section
In the Privacy or Privacy & Security page, scroll down to the “Motion & Fitness” section
If not turned on, turn on “Fitness Tracking”
Make sure “Health” is turned on
