Sync Samsung Health with Google Fit

The Converge International App uses the Google Fit service to synchronise fitness data like steps from a range of different sources, including Samsung Health.

This guide will show you how to data share between Samsung Health and Google Fit, which in turn allows the Converge app to sync with Samsung Health and any wearable or phone connected to Samsung Health.

By following these steps, you’ll be able to sync fitness and steps data from the following devices:

  • Samsung smartphones with a built-in pedometer

  • Samsung Galaxy Smartwatches connected to a Samsung smartphone


1. Make sure you have both Samsung Health and Google Fit installed

First, make sure you have:

2. Sync data between Google Fit and Samsung Health

Next, it’s time to allow the Google Fit app to have access to Samsung Health data. Follow these steps:

  1. Open the Settings App on your phone

  2. Search for “Health Connect” or find “Health Connect” and tap it

  3. In Health Connect, scroll to the “Permissions and data” section and tap “App Permissions”

  4. Tap “Samsung Health”

You’ll now be asked what data you want to sync:

Allow, all options, or at minimum, allow “Distance” to be read (in the Allow to read) and for “Distance” to be Written (in the Allowed to write” section.

3. Allow the Converge App to access Samsung Health data

Finally, you’ll need to connect the Converge International App to sync data with Google Fit. Make sure you’ve installed and setup the Converge App before beginning.

  1. Open the Converge International App

  2. Tap “Profile” on the bottom menu of the app (on the bottom right)

  3. Tap “Settings” from the list of options

  4. Tap “Connect your device”

  5. Tap “Google Fit”

You’ll now be asked what data you want to sync:

Allow, all options, or at minimum, allow “Distance” to be read (in the Allow to read) and for “Distance” to be Written (in the Allowed to write” section.
